Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, a possible 2024 presidential candidate, will be on Nantucket this Tuesday for a fundraiser, multiple sources told the Current.

The DeSantis event is being hosted by businessman and island summer resident James Pallotta, the owner and founder of Raptor Group, a private investment firm.

DeSantis' visit will come just a day ahead of another political fundraiser, as five big name Republican candidates will be on-island Wednesday for a separate event.

Florida Senator Rick Scott, the chair of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, will be joined on the island by Congressman Ted Budd, the Republican nominee for the Senate in North Carolina; Dr. Mehmet Oz, the party nominee for Senate in Pennsylvania; JD Vance, the GOP Senate candidate in Ohio; and Herschel Walker, the Republican running for Senate in Georgia. The "Take Back the Senate Reception & Dinner" is being held at the island home of Bob and Laura Reynolds on Wednesday, Aug. 10.

Tickets for that event range from $2,500 to attend the reception, up to $50,000 for a seat at the dinner.

The events are just the latest big ticket political fundraisers on Nantucket, as the island has long been a haven for politicians of both parties seeking access to donors. Back in July, First Lady Jill Biden was on the island to attend a fundraiser to support the Democratic Grassroots Victory Fund that was hosted by Frank Herron and Sandra Urie.
